Volunteering is a great way to meet people and to get involved with the Bellingham Senior Activity Center. Most volunteers work less than four hours per week, and there are opportunities to work as a substitute if you cannot make a commitment to a regular shift.

Some volunteer possibilities are:
- Front Reception Area Answer phones, answer questions, handle membership and trip transactions, assist with clerical tasks.
- Hospitality Desk Greet people as they enter the Center and sign in, direct people to rooms in the Center, answer questions about daily activities.
- Gift Shop Handle sales and inventory in Gift Shop.
- Coffee Bar Prepare and serve coffee, handle coffee bar donations including food donations, clean coffee bar area.
- Computer Lab Volunteers monitor lab equipment and may assist members in Open Computer Lab.
- Open Gym Volunteers monitor gym, clean equipment and may assist members in Open Gym. Hours flexible, depending on availability.
- Dining Room Volunteers set tables, serve meals if needed, and clean up after lunch.
- Musical Groups Our musical groups go out into the community, to long term care facilities and community events, to perform.
- Advisory Committee, and other committees Serving on the Advisory Committee is a way of sharing your expertise, time and talents for the betterment of the Center.
- Pancake Breakfast Many people help with our monthly community breakfast. Volunteers also assist with special evening dinners and help with fundraising events.
- Bulletin Assembly Assist 2-3 hours in assembling newsletter for mailing once each month.
- Nutrition Program Maintain lunch records and dispense meal tickets.
- Meals on Wheels Drivers Deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors.
- Tour Committee Members Share your expertise, time & talent helping plan group travel
- Tour Event Committee Members Volunteer to help plan stellar events for the community
- Tour Ambassadors Help engage the community by presenting tour information to clubs, neighborhood organizations and the media
- Tour Leaders Volunteer to lead groups (must be certified in first aid & CPR and undergo training)
- Academic Intern Academic Internships are available periodically – please call to learn more!
