WCCOA depends upon your generous support to be able to offer vital programs for seniors in our community. We were incorporated in 1964 as a 501c3 nonprofit and have been dedicated to serving seniors for 46 years, and counting!
The Bellingham Senior Activity Center draws on support from both its members and the community to offer programs that enrich the lives of seniors in Bellingham and promote living independently.
Our Nutrition Program, including Meals on Wheels and meals at congregate sites for low income seniors in our community, would not be possible without the generous donations from the community and our funding partners.
Federal grants cover less than a third of the expenses for our nutrition program, donations from participants cover another third. The remaining third comes from community donations and private foundations grants.
This support from you is critical – it ensures that WCCOA can continue to serve seniors that rely on us for this most basic of social services – adequate nutrition.
And your donations go farther in 2011! This year, the St. Luke’s Foundation’s Senior Nutrition fund will augment your donations with a matching contribution of 50 cents on every dollar donated. Please take advantage of this opportunity to support our efforts to deliver nutritious meals to those in need in our community.
Cash donations to support Whatcom County Council on Aging (WCCOA) programs are tax deductible on your federal tax report. WCCOA has 501(c)(3) tax exempt status with the IRS and all donations are deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
